Migration Report - 23rd December 2005
The rains in parts of the Serengeti have been delayed which has in turn affected the Migration patterns. The herds are very spread out with quite a few tail-enders still in the Mara River area on the border, with good herds of zebras and plenty of cats around the Lobo area. The adventurous ones have made it down to the Seronera area, parts of the western corridor and north of Moru where there are good sized herds. Others have congregated in the Maswa Game Reserve/Simiyu south of there. The short grass plains, which is the area the herds want to be for the calving, still remains dry and dusty. There have been a couple of showers over the last 10 days but not enough to sustain the Migration. Cats and resident game are very good around the southern short grass plains/Ndutu area, and the Migration is within game drive reach. The northern short grass plain area, Gol Mountains, southern Loliondo is still dry.

Migration Update - 1st December 2005
Scattered showers across the Serengeti have encouraged the Wildebeest to head south. A few herds are still up on the Mara River and still crossing and re-crossing in fits of indecision. The main herds have already spread themselves over a wide area down through central Serengeti and the advance guard has already reached Moru. There are other herds in central Loliondo/Ikoma. Since the rain has not yet spread to the short grass plains north of Ndutu and around Gol, the herds are hanging back in the Serengeti area waiting for the right time
